Gothic Chic.

I've always loved black clothing though I never actually went for this style, but lately I've noticed that my clothing selections keep gravitating more and more towards it. Now, I don't plan on going full-on goth on you guys, this is simply a "gothic chic" admiration post. Who knows and it triggers the dark and mysterious girl in you girly girls, haha. :)

I put these together earlier and let me just say I would love to own each and every one of these! That maxi dress is gorgeous. Sadly, it is also way over my budget. Oh, the life of a student.

Never Regret Your Drugstore Purchases Again!: A Guide

We have all been there, we get a product at our local drugstore because the packaging looks gorgeous. Or maybe the celebrity modelling it is one of our absolute faves. Or it may even be the fact that you just need a red lipstick and randomly choose one out of all the red lipsticks there are because we have no time! And since you can't test out drugstore products, we can't avoid getting home and finding that the product is absolute crap. This is a guide for you pretty ladies to make sure you never regret a drugstore purchase again. These are some fool proof steps I take when shopping for make up at a drugstore.

1. Always, always, always look for reviews of the product you're thinking of purchasing. Always! I know we don't always plan on the products we want to buy once we're there, but if you didn't plan on it, then it isn't urgent. So go home and look for a review, then buy it when you can. If it's urgent and you need, for example, a long lasting foundation, look for reviews on drugstore foundations.

My favorite places to seek reviews on products are YouTube and www.makeupalley.com.

* It's super convenient to have a smartphone with internet, so if you do definitely get the most out of it and look for reviews there while at the drugstore. (I get a lot of weird looks for hovering over the make up isle with my blackberry in hand, watching YouTube videos, haha.)

2. No brand is the best quality all around. Always remember this. Sometimes we find a really good lipstick collection from a certain brand, then we assume all of their collections are amazing - sometimes we even think all of their products are the same quality. Try not to assume, always be super-certain or you could be throwing away your hard earned cash.

*3. If you can manage to test it out on the down-low, go for it. Sometimes mixed reviews don't convince me. And I'm not super proud of this, but I sometimes do open a palette and swipe the product with my finger to see how pigmented it is. You guys decide if you want to take my advice or not on this one!

4. Don't judge a product by it's price. Just because it's in a higher price range does not mean it's a better quality product.

5. Now, in contradiction to my last tip, know that some brands are just not that great. For example, I don't know about other girls and make up lovers, but I do not like Wet & Wild products at all. I've given them the opportunity, don't like them at all. So I stay away from them.

Basically the golden rule is to take advantage of all the resources we have to make sure we don't waste money. Reviews are the number 1 thing to keep in mind! Good luck with your drugstore make up hunting, ladies!

Drugstore finds!

So, while I'm back home in Puerto Rico I rarely get make up at any other store other than Walgreens and Walmart. Mostly because MAC and Sephora are two hours away from where I live and I can't be bothered to make that long trip. There are a couple of things I want online and most places don't ship to Puerto Rico. I see this as the Universe controlling my spending by limiting my access to large amounts of make up.

I recently went to Walmart and hauled a little bit, haha. I got tons of great products, and finally purchased some NYX products. Which, by the way, I had always ben skeptical about but found that it is actually a pretty good inexpensive brand.

The only products that I was not impressed with were the NYC translucent powder, the 'Just Bitten' lip stain and the Sinful Colors nail polish. And to be fair, the only reason I wasn't happy with the nail polish is because I was looking for a red like the one I found in Bettina nail polish. The Sinful Colors had a pink undertone and I hate that in red nail polishes.

Also, if you are a beginner in make up and want some good quality eye shadows for cheap,definitely purchase the NYX palettes! So pigmented and so cheap. The entire palette was around $8 at Walmart!

Officially back from being MIA!

Hi guys!

To start off, I am so sorry for being completely missing for almost a year. Literally, almost a year. I don't know what happened, between school away from home, making new friends, getting involved and - for a while there - having no little to no social life, sufficient amounts of sleep OR time to properly fix up my hair and make up due to studying, papers and finals.. I couldn't find the way to multi-task and run this blog properly.

I do trust that I am more able now, though! Haha, and I surely do miss it, believe me. So I'm back for good and hope that I didn't lose all of you during my hiatus! :(

I'm anxious to share new advice, reviews, routines, products and all that good stuff with you guys! I'm going back to New York in about a week and a half so you'll have to bear with me if it takes me a while to get back on my feet!

But so, I wanted to share the most recent update in my hair! Funny thing is that since my last post on here, which was me dying my hair brown black, I've changed the color three more times. I went for a deep red which I loved, then a brighter one. I recently just started the Ombre process now, which is basically this for those of you who aren't familiar with it. I bleached the ends and dyed my roots once, I'm waiting another week to bleach again. Can't wait! *The picture at the top of the post is my hair currently, after the first bleaching process. :)

Brown Black.

I dyed my hair brown black today. At home! I used Revlon Colorsilk in #20.

I absolutely love how it turned out. The day I went to the salon I had a little mishap and decided to leave and do it myself. I was going to trim my fringe myself - like I've always done - but I decided to let it grow out and try something new for a while.

By the way, I'm wearing the new falsies in the picture. And I'm wearing my new robe that my mom got me! Isn't it adorable? :)

Nicki Minaj, Nicki Lewinsky...

I've been Nicki Minaj obsessed for the past couple of days. And I've been itching to create one of her make up looks and show you guys! I'll try and do so tomorrow.
